How It Works - How does this per-stock page work?
This page shows a side-by-side dividend profile for any US-listed dividend-paying stock. The numbers update once per trading day at market close (cached in our edge network for 24 hours), so you see exactly the same numbers as everyone else and the page loads in under a second.
The headline metric is Basic Dividend Formula (BDF): the lump-sum capital required, at today's price and dividend, to generate one dollar of monthly dividend income, perpetually. For a stock paying $0.75 quarterly at $400, BDF is 3 * $400 / $0.75 = $1,600. That single number lets you compare any two stocks - a $5 monthly REIT and a $400 quarterly blue chip - on the same axis.
The yield-on-cost (YoC) projection table assumes the company's observed 5-year dividend growth rate continues for years 1-5, then linearly tapers to a 3% long-run mean over years 6-15, and stays at 3% thereafter. This is a deliberately conservative model: very few companies grow their dividend at 10%+ for 30 straight years, so we do not pretend they will. If the company is already growing below 3%, we hold its observed rate (we do NOT assume it will magically accelerate to the market mean).
The income-target calculator inverts the question: instead of "how much income does X capital generate?" it asks "how many shares do I need to receive a chosen monthly income?" The answer is always rounded up to the next whole share.
The "What our AI sees" paragraph at the bottom is generated once per ticker by a small open-source language model (running free on Cloudflare Workers AI) and cached for 30 days. It cannot recommend buying or selling, it cannot reference anything you type, and it is sanitized to remove URLs, code, and any markup before display. If we cannot generate one yet, you will see "Insight pending" - check back within a day.
